“Return To Poetry”

You've been missing out.

I know everyone writes poems, crumples 'em up, and they're forgot about.

I've done it a million times.

We strive for recognition with the word and the rhyme and then we hide.

Why do we keep it all pent up inside?

I know it probably feels like you've been dyin'.

I know you've spent some hours cryin'.

Though it's really not my business.

Just know that the blank page can give you shelter and even stand as your witness.

Let's not twist this.

Here's the deal.

It can help you and God get on an even keel.

If you just write the words, your soul will heal.

In knowing yourself, you'll be keepin' it real.
