Featured Poem by Poet Caiti Quatmann
“SEE YOU WHEN YOU GET HOME FROM SCHOOL, I WHISPER TO MY CHILD’S APPLE”
Neat & untouched but with promises of nourishment,
it returns from the school bag & now in the kitchen's light it sits on the counter,
unmoved & unopened; it lies like a forgotten wish that waits, remains intact,
& you look & you wonder but you simply can't grasp how it remains so perfectly whole,
no bite taken, no mess,
only the silent evidence that it is this untouched thing.
